Desktop Notifications

Desktop notifications will use web push notifications to alert you, and clicking the push notification will send you to the user chat in the CHATS page. Note that desktop notifications are currently known to support Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, but not Safari. Also note that desktop notifications do not work on incognito browsers.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • If the notification does not show, you may need to change the notification setting for your browser to “Ask” or “Allow”. On Chrome, this can be done by clicking the lock icon next to the address bar, then clicking Site Settings. The settings page is then shown like the photo below.

  • If clicking the notification does not take you to the user chat, you may need to allow your browser to redirect you to other websites. For Chrome, this is under the setting: “Pop-ups and redirects“.

  • In the case that notifications still do not show up after making these changes, you may need to reload the tab or open a new one. Else, contact support.
